Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing blueprints and drawings to determine specifications.
  • Analyzing construction plans to identify potential structural problems.
  • Examining building materials to identify any defects.
  • Assigning and explaining tasks to the project team.
  • Calculating the amount of labor, time and materials needed for each project.
  • Creating and adjusting project schedules accordingly.
  • Ordering all construction materials needed for projects.
  • Supervising the company’s field carpenters, unskilled and semi-skilled workers, and subcontractors.
  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Performing all carpentry duties required, including both rough and finish carpentry.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all work done by the project team.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (High) School Diploma or Collage Diploma in the field of Carpentry.
  • At least 5 years experience as a framer and 2 years experience as a leader.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Sound knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools, machines and other equipment safely and effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Physical strength, stamina and focus.
Responsibilities:
  • Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout and installation.
  • Accurately measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining lumber, wood and other building materials.
  • Compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations.
  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull and lift heavy objects.
  • Performing cleanups of job sites by clearing away all carpentry debris and waste.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (High) School Diploma.
  • At least 1 year experience as a framer.
  • Sound knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools, machines and other equipment safely and effectively.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Physical strength, stamina and focus.
